Costa’s Mag Bay Offers Extra Large Fit, Core Performance Features for Anglers

Magdalena Bay stretches for 31 miles along Mexico’s western Baja California Sur’s coast. Protected from the Pacific Ocean by barrier islands, Magdalena Bay is mating ground for California’s gray whales in the winter, and offers incredible sportfishing to anglers year round. It’s this place that inspired Costa’s newest sunglass style, Mag Bay.

The new Mag Bay style provides comfort features such as durable co-injected molded nylon frame construction, hypoallergenic no-slip nose pads and temple tips, and sturdy optical spring hinges for an all- day, “forget-they’re-on” fit. Mag Bay is an extra large rectangular- shaped frame, available in colors including tortoise, shiny black, matte sunset fade and wood fade.

Mag Bay, like all Costa sunglasses, can be customized in the brand’s full array of patented color enhancing polarized 580™ lenses. Costa’s 580 lens technology selectively filters out harsh yellow and harmful high-energy ultraviolet blue light. Filtering yellow light enhances reds, blues and

greens, and produces better contrast and definition while reducing glare and eye fatigue. Absorbing high-energy blue light cuts haze, producing greater visual clarity and sharpness.

Costa’s 580™ lenses, the clearest lenses on the planet, are available in either glass or impact resistant polycarbonate. Lens color options include: gray, copper, amber, sunrise, blue mirror, green mirror and silver mirror. Mag Bay is also available in customized Rx sun lenses.

“Mag Bay is a core Costa style in an extra large fitting frame,” said Chas MacDonald, president of Costa. “It’s a classic design with all of the performance technology elements anglers need to see through the water more clearly.”

Mag Bay retails between $169 and $249, depending on lens selection. Customized Costa Rx sunglass prices will vary. For more information, or to find an authorized Costa retail partner, visit www.costadelmar.com.

performance sunglasses, Costa offers superior lens technology and unparalleled fit and durability. Still handcrafted today in Florida, Costa has created the highest quality, best performing sunglasses and prescription sunglasses (Rx) for outdoor enthusiasts since 1983.

For Costa, conservation is all about sustainable fishing. Many fisheries that should be vibrant and healthy are all but devoid of native fish because they have fallen victim to poor fishing practices, unregulated development, lack of watershed protection or all of the above. Costa works with partners around the world to help increase awareness and influence policy so that both the fish and fishermen of tomorrow will have healthy waters to enjoy. Costa encourages others to help in any way they can.
